My aunt and dear friend, Jennifer, has just lost her mother. Please pray for our family.
Among the Mourners
(In memory of Judy, Jennifer's mother)
May You carry this woman
Safely into the stars
Hold her close in Your arms
And begin to slow dance
May You comfort my friend
Deprived of her mother
Among the mourners, hold her close
And show her how to dance
May You slap me in the face
That I may see stars
Remind me that I promised You
A dance, first and infinite
May You comfort us all
Among the mourners
But especially my friend
Grant her one star of remembrance
For Jennifer

That was a year ago, and I still cry every time I read this poem.
I guess you'll never forget people and the wonderful things they did before they were gone.
I am so sad that I only just "found" your blog. Even if you hate it, it's so you.
I love your poem, and would love to read more. I promise never to brag too much, if you will share more.
You are off soon. I smile through my tears and wish you Godspeed.
You are His.
With all of my love.
